Are pro wrestling podcasters hurting the buisness

Are pro wrestling podcasters hurting the business?

Before we get into things I'ld like to thank Rebel Life Media for suggesting this. They really contributed to this project and I couldn't thank them enough.
Talk is Jericho, the Stone Cold Podcast and the Art of Wrestling are just some of the many podcasts that wrestling fans can listen to at any time. Whether it be about an upcoming show being cancelled or someone leaving a company, these podcasts do well at explaining what goes on behind the scenes but is this good or is it slowly ruining the buisness
There are podcasts for almost everything  everything whether it be Star Wars or comic books. The issue with these is that they start rumours but also they take away form the surprise and mystery of not knowing what's going to happen next or what's going on behind the scenes and the same goes for wrestling. Back in the Golden Era of wrestling in the eighties doing anything like this would be nothing but looked down upon due to it exposing the buisness. Kayfabe has been dead for a long time but I still think that holding some sort of secret and character  is necessary so as to keep the buisness alive. Wrestling is like theatre, it tells a story that the viewer can get emotionally attached to, therefore if you have the 'actors' exposing everything that goes on after or before the show, it ruins it. Whilst you can just avoid these podcasts it's really hard especially if you're really into the buisness.
Podcasts play into the issues that have occurred due to the 'end of Kayfabe' and honestly I think this whole break in character lead to fall in popularity in wrestling during the PG Era. If you know that wrestlers are hating there position and usage on their show it just makes it depressing to watch and removes any chance of rewatching any of their previous matches. Whilst it is important to know what wrestlers think of what they're doing this can ruin the experience.
The best thing in wrestling is being surprised, think about moments like Jericho showing up in NJPW or Rey Mysterio returning to WWE. Podcasts , mostly the more news oriented ones, have ruined this due to them exposing backstage plans alongside things  like future bookings and backstage rumours. There's nothing better than being surprised especially when it comes to wrestling.
So my overall opinion  is that whilst wrestling podcasts maybe funny or entertaining they can have a negative impact to the way how we watch wrestling and how we view events that are supposed to be surprising. Therefore podcasts can and likely do hurt the buisness and whilst some of you may disagree in the end that's what they can do.

So this post hard to write due to it being not too popular of a subject for discussion but I hope I discussed it decently anyway this is the start of my World of Wrestling week special so stay tuned for tomorrow's post.
